WALK: The Brecon Story was born in the depths of Covid lockdown. It was inspired by and subsequently funded by a Cadw / National Lottery Heritage Fund initiative aimed at encouraging all of us to discover the local history and architecture that we can find within a fifteen minutes walk of where we live. Many local people are keen students of the town’s history. So we have delved through old books and newspapers to try and find new insights into the people and places that have shaped our community over nearly a thousand years. This walk also highlights the 27 historical plaques that you can find in the town which, post lockdown, we have also had the opportunity to research and clean up.
