'Yn y Lhyvyr Hwnn' was written by Sir John Prys, or Price, and was printed in 1546. This interview places the publication of the book in its historical context, deals with contents of the book and tells us a little about the author.

yny llyvyr extract

This Story was written and recounted by John Meurig Edwards, who has lived in Brecon for just over 50 years. He was headteacher of Ysgol y Bannau, the Welsh medium school in Brecon, and it was during his time there that he developed an interest in the history of the town and the area. He thinks that it is important that children are made aware of the rich historical heritage of this area, and therefore local history featured prominently in the school's curriculum.

The Story was recorded bilingually with John talking to Nic Groombridge in English and John’s wife Margaret in Welsh.
